
ROUTES
TRAIL DEI PARCHI 2025
The Trail dei Parchi includes 3 different routes: long, medium and short.
The starting and finishing point of all the routes is the town of Barisciano (AQ).
Each trail will lead you to discover the most beautiful places in Abruzzo and its parks.
The Trail dei Parchi runs along dirt roads, paths, paved roads and even small single tracks.
The percentage of dirt roads on all routes is approximately 75%.
All the tracks are very smooth and suitable for any mountain bike (front, full and E-bike).
For gravel lovers, there are asphalt variants that avoid the roughest sections.
There is no time limit, the Trail dei Parchi is not a race but a great adventure!

LONG ROUTE
The long Trail dei Parchi route is the symbol of the event!
The trail passes through unique and enchanting places.
The first includes a fun stretch of single tracks leading to Poggio Picenze, then climbs towards Rocca di Mezzo or the splendid plateau of the rocks, nestled in the Sirente Velino Park.
We continue through woods and dirt roads to the splendid village of Goriano Sicoli and then on towards Prezza and finally to Sulmona.
The trail continues towards Pettorano sul Gizio, Piana delle Cinque Miglia and then Risivisondoli, immersed in the Majella Park.
From here we continue towards Cansano, the Sulmona valley up to Popoli and then a suggestive stretch along the river between Bussi and Capestrano.
The passage to Bominaco Castle is very evocative.
The final stretch is in the Navelli Valley, surrounded by mountains and wide meadows.
A unique, challenging route full of panoramic views and memorable passages!


MEDIUM ROUTE

The medium route of the Trail dei Parchi is exciting and spectacular!
The trail passes through unique and enchanting places.
The first features a fun stretch of single tracks leading to Poggio Picenze, then climbs towards Rocca di Mezzo or the splendid Rocche plateau, nestled in the Sirente Velino Park.
We continue through woods and dirt roads to the splendid village of Goriano Sicoli and then on towards Prezza and finally to Sulmona. .
From here we continue along the Sulmona valley to Popoli and then along a picturesque stretch along the river between Bussi and Capestrano.
The passage to Bominaco Castle is very evocative.
The final stretch is in the Navelli Valley, surrounded by mountains and wide meadows.
Spectacular route, just the right amount of challenging, with plenty of scenic spots and memorable stretches!

SHORT ROUTE
The short Trail dei Parchi route is for all bikers who want to try a non-extreme bikepacking experience.
The first features a fun stretch of single tracks leading to Poggio Picenze, then climbs towards Rocca di Mezzo or the splendid Rocche plateau, nestled in the Sirente Velino Park.
We continue through woods and dirt roads to the splendid village of Goriano Sicoli and then on towards Prezza and finally to Sulmona. .
From here we continue along the Sulmona valley to Popoli and then along a picturesque stretch along the river between Bussi and Capestrano.
The passage to Bominaco Castle is very evocative.
The final stretch is in the Navelli Valley, surrounded by mountains and wide meadows.
Warning...short doesn't mean easy; moderate physical effort is required!

OVERNIGHT STAY POINTS
The following slides list the overnight accommodations for all three routes, with their respective mileages.
Each participant must book their accommodations independently.
At the moment there are no agreements with the facilities along the route.
The data in the slides may have an error of +/- 5%.
